What's it all about?
All learners need to provide a reference from their level 2 tutor and have an interview with the level 3 course tutor prior to being accepted to enrol onto the course.
The course requires individuals to have strong mental health and is not suitable for individuals currently receiving psychological support or looking for such support.
You will need to have access to a laptop/computer and be competent in producing word- processed documents. Individuals are also required to hold a level 2 counselling certificate and a level 2 English qualification.
*Please note that we will only consider candidates that have completed face-to-face learning, classroom- based or face-to-face online. Proof of assessment of counselling skills at level 2 is also required.
The course increases your knowledge through examining the area of counselling theories and related areas, helps to develop your own self- awareness, teaches you basic core Gestalt and CBT counselling skills and facilitates the development of their application.
The application of these skills will strengthen your ability to listen attentively and facilitate awareness in another. They support you to challenge individuals rather than giving advice or offering solutions and help to identify significant clues individuals present both in their spoken content and delivery.
The course also develops and assesses your ability to write academically.
