What's it all about?
This course is suitable for those who are interested in finding out more about working in the health and social care sector with adults, children or young people, in order to progress into work, or move on to further study. ESOL/EAL learners must be studying ESOL level 1 or above.

The NCFE Level 1 Award in Introduction to Health, Social Care and Children’s and Young People’s Settings will enable students to recognise the similarities and differences between these settings. Topics covered include the different types of service provision and the range of job roles available within these sectors, communication and team working skills, along with an understanding of the values and principles of work in these sectors.

Teaching and assessment are through a range of in-class activities, group work and discussion, and the completion of an individual portfolio of written tasks for the qualification.

Upon successful completion of this course, you can progress to our Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Working in the Health Sector, or other courses to support progression into specific roles in the health and social care sector.
