What's it all about?
This course is suitable for those who have an interest in helping relationships and a wish to increase their self-awareness and gain an understanding of counselling and the associated techniques. The course requires individuals to have strong mental health and is not suitable for anyone currently receiving psychological support or looking for such support.
The Level 2 Certificate in Counselling covers a range of counselling related topics such as values and beliefs, boundaries, and equality and diversity as well as introducing you to the concepts and techniques associated with some well-known therapeutic models. You will also learn core counselling skills.
Teaching and assessment methods include counselling skills demonstrations and practice sessions, the completion of ten written tasks and a skills observation assessment. The knowledge and skills on offer can be utilised to complement an existing role or as a basis for continued study to attain a qualification in this sector.
Upon successful completion of this course, you can progress to our Level 3 Diploma in Counselling.
